Vision Plans
Vision Plans
Vision plans are primarily for people who wear glasses, since our medical plans cover medical diseases of the eye, such as glaucoma and cataracts. When an optometrist checks your eyes to see if you need glasses, this is called a refraction eye exam. When this refraction exam indicates you need a correction, a vision plan will really keep your costs down for those glasses or contacts.
Two of the largest vision plan carriers are VSP (Vision Service Provider) and EyeMed. Most optometry offices are VSP providers, and some also take EyeMed. There are some retail stores that only sell glasses, but don’t have an optometrist on staff. These are not VSP or EyeMed providers – it’s good to check online before you go. You always want to stay in network.
With VSP, you can choose from three affordable plans. Each plan gives you great savings on your exam, glasses or contacts, and lenses. Click below to see which plan is best for you. There are 3 ways to see VSP Plans.
